The Etsy fee calculator shows what Etsy takes from one sale. Enter the item price, the shipping you charge the buyer, and where your Etsy Payments bank account is, and it adds up the listing fee, the transaction fee and the payment processing fee, then shows what you keep before your own costs. It runs in your browser and needs no sign-up. Results come from your numbers and the rates named on the page, read on 15 Oct 2026. Whether you search for Etsy fees or an Etsy fees calculator, each fee gets its own line so you can see where the money goes.

How to use the Etsy Fee Calculator

  1. Choose “Where your Etsy Payments bank account is”: United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom or the euro area. Canada and Australia have separate domestic and international options. This sets the payment processing rate.
  2. Enter the “Item price”. The default is 20 for a US shop.
  3. Enter “Shipping you charge the buyer”. Leave 0 if you charge none. The transaction fee applies to price plus shipping.
  4. Open “More options” for the settings below.
  5. For a US shop, enter “Sales tax the buyer pays (%)”. The processing fee is charged on the total with tax; the transaction fee is not. The field is hidden for other countries.
  6. Check “Listing fee per order”. It starts at 0.2 and you can change it.
  7. Under “Offsite Ads”, pick “Not an Offsite Ads order”, “Offsite Ads order, 15% fee” or “Offsite Ads order, 12% fee”.
  8. Tick “Listing currency differs from my payment account currency” to add the 2.5% conversion fee.
  9. Read “Total Etsy fees”, “You keep (before your own costs)” and “Fees as a share of the order total”, plus each fee line and the “Rates read from” line with the check date.
  10. The table below shows total fees and what you keep at item prices of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100, using your shipping and settings.

Each result covers one order.

How are etsy fees calculated for one order?

Etsy fees for one order are three separate charges added together: a listing fee, a transaction fee, and a payment processing fee. The Etsy Fee Calculator works out each one from the numbers you enter, then adds them to give the total fees.

The listing fee is $0.20 USD per listing, according to Etsy’s Fees & Payments Policy (read 15 Oct 2026). The page counts one listing fee per order. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping charged to the buyer. For US shops, it does not apply to sales tax.

The payment processing fee is a percentage plus a flat amount, charged on the total the buyer pays, including shipping and tax. The rate depends on the country of your Etsy Payments bank account: US 3% + $0.25, Canada domestic 3% + CA$0.25, Canada international 4% + CA$0.25, Australia domestic 3% + A$0.25, Australia international 4% + A$0.25, UK 4% + £0.20, and euro area 4% + €0.30. These rates come from Etsy Payments Policy, section 9.B (read 15 Oct 2026).

With the default settings ($20.00 item, no shipping, no tax), the calculation runs like this: listing $0.20, plus transaction 6.5% × $20.00 = $1.30, plus processing 3% × $20.00 + $0.25 = $0.85. That gives total fees of $2.35, so you keep $17.65, which is 11.75% of the order total.

A second example adds shipping and tax: a $44.00 item, $6.00 shipping, and 8% US sales tax. The transaction fee is 6.5% × $50.00 = $3.25. The processing fee is 3% × $54.00 + $0.25 = $1.87, because the buyer pays $54.00 with tax. With the $0.20 listing fee, the total is $5.32. You keep $44.68, which is 10.64% of the order total of $50.00 (item price plus shipping).

What do Offsite Ads and currency conversion add to etsy fees?

Offsite Ads and currency conversion are optional charges. Each one is added on top of the three standard fees, and each is calculated on the order total, which means item price plus shipping.

The Offsite Ads option offers none, 15%, or 12%. Etsy charges 15% of the order total when the shop sold under $10,000 USD in the previous 365 days, and 12% above that level. Etsy caps this fee at $100 USD per order. For US shops, the page applies that cap.

Currency conversion is added when you tick the checkbox. Etsy charges 2.5% of the sale amount when the listing currency differs from the payment account currency, so the page adds 2.5% of the order total.

Some amounts sit outside the calculation. Outside the US, a regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees may apply, and the page does not include them. The listing fee is converted by Etsy for shops that do not use USD. The page does not include taxes you owe, shipping labels, Etsy Ads, Etsy Plus, or the cost of your product. The Etsy Profit Calculator on this site adds those costs.

The rates were read on 15 Oct 2026. Etsy’s own pages returned an error to our checker, so the figures were taken from Internet Archive copies of etsy.com/legal pages dated 2026-10-10 and 2026-10-11. Etsy may have changed a rate after those copies were made, so check Etsy’s current pages before you rely on a result.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Etsy transaction fee?

The transaction fee is 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping charged to the buyer. For US shops, it does not apply to sales tax. The calculator shows it on its own line.

Does the Etsy Fee Calculator include sales tax?

It includes a US sales-tax rate you can enter under “More options.” That tax is counted in the total the processing fee is charged on, but it is not counted in the transaction fee for US shops.

Why does the bank account location change the result?

The payment processing fee depends on the country of your Etsy Payments bank account. Each country has its own percentage and flat amount, so the same sale can produce different fees.

What happens if I choose an Offsite Ads option?

The option you pick adds 15% or 12% of the order total, depending on your shop’s sales over the previous 365 days. For US shops, the page applies Etsy’s $100 USD cap per order.

Are VAT and the regulatory operating fee included outside the US?

No. Outside the US, a regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees may apply, and the calculator does not include them. Add them yourself if they apply to your shop.

Does the calculator tell me what price to charge?

No. The calculator works out fees from the numbers you enter and the rates named on the page. It gives no pricing advice.
