Etsy Profit Calculator
Enter your price, what the item and shipping cost you and a target margin to see profit per order after Etsy fees, the break-even price and the price that reaches your margin.

How to use the Etsy Profit Calculator
- Choose “Where your Etsy Payments bank account is”. The United States uses 3% + $0.25 for payment processing; the other options use Etsy’s chart.
- Enter the “Item price” and “Shipping you charge the buyer”.
- Enter “Cost of the item (materials, supplier)”, “Shipping label cost you pay” and “Other cost per order”. The item cost (6) and other cost (1) start as example values, so replace them with your own.
- Enter “Orders per month” (the example is 50) and “Target profit margin (%)” (the example is 40).
- Open “More options” if needed. Set “Sales tax the buyer pays (%)” (US shops only) and “Listing fee per order”, pick an “Offsite Ads” option, and tick “Listing currency differs from my payment account currency” if it applies.
- Read the results: “Profit per order”, “Profit margin”, “Profit per month”, “Etsy fees per order”, “Break-even item price” and “Item price for the target margin”.
- Check the “Prices compared” table. It lists the break-even price, the target-margin price and your price, each with Etsy fees, profit per order and margin. A row is left out when its price is not reachable.
- Read any warnings, such as a loss-making price, a margin that cannot be reached, or shipping that already covers your costs.
- Try the “$15 item”, “$30 item” or “$60 + shipping” presets to see how the numbers move.
How does an Etsy profit calculator work out your profit per order?
Profit per order is the item price plus the shipping you charge, minus Etsy fees, the item cost, the shipping label cost and other costs per order. Every figure comes from the numbers you enter, so the result is only as accurate as those inputs.
What fees does Etsy charge on each order?
The calculator uses a listing fee of $0.20 per order (Etsy’s Fees & Payments Policy, read 15 Oct 2026), a transaction fee of 6.5% of the price plus shipping, and payment processing of 3% plus $0.25 for a US shop. Other countries use the processing rates in Etsy’s chart. Two optional fees can be added: Offsite Ads at 15% or 12%, capped at $100 USD, and a 2.5% currency conversion fee. The rates were read from Internet Archive copies of Etsy’s legal pages dated 10 and 11 October 2026, and the page shows “rates checked 15 Oct 2026”. Etsy may have changed a rate in between, so check current fees before you rely on a result.
How is margin calculated?
Margin is profit divided by the order total. The order total is the item price plus the shipping charged to the buyer, before sales tax. For example, a $30.00 item with $6.00 and $1.00 in costs has fees of $3.30 (0.20 + 1.95 + 1.15), a profit of $19.70 and a margin of 65.67%. At 50 orders per month, that is a monthly profit of $985.00.
How is the break-even item price found?
Break-even is the price where profit is zero. Your fees are a percentage of the order total plus fixed amounts, such as the listing fee, the flat processing fee and your costs. If the percentage is a and the fixed amounts total b, the order total is b ÷ (1 − a). The item price is that order total minus the shipping you charge. With the example figures, the break-even item price is $8.23 (7.45 ÷ 0.905).
How is the price for a target margin found?
The price for a target margin uses the same method with the margin m added to the percentage. The order total is b ÷ (1 − a − m), and the item price is that total minus the shipping charged. If a + m reaches 100%, the margin cannot be reached, and the page says so. If Offsite Ads would take fees past the $100 USD cap, the calculator uses the capped fee. For a 40% target with the example figures, the price is $14.75 (7.45 ÷ 0.505), and the profit at that price is $5.90.

Frequently asked questions
Is this Etsy profit calculator free to use?
Yes. It runs in your browser and needs no sign-up.
Does the calculator tell me what price to charge?
No. It shows the break-even price and the price for your target margin, calculated from the numbers you enter. Choosing a price is up to you.
Does it calculate income tax?
No. Income taxes are not calculated, and neither are Etsy Ads, Etsy Plus or refunds. Anything you spend per order can go in “Other cost per order”.
Are all fees included for shops outside the US?
Not all of them. A regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees are not included outside the US, and the page warns about this.
What does the Offsite Ads cap do?
The “Offsite Ads” setting is not an Offsite Ads order, 15% or 12%. Etsy caps the fee at $100 USD per order, so if the fee would pass that cap, the calculator uses the capped amount for a shop that lists in USD.
What does “not reachable with these fees” mean?
The percentage fees plus your target margin would take 100% or more of the order total, so no item price can reach that margin. Lower the target margin to get a price.
How is this different from the Etsy Fee Calculator?
The fee model is the same as the Etsy Fee Calculator. This calculator adds your item cost, shipping label cost and other costs, so it can show profit, margin and target prices.
